Worldwide Publishing and Content Community meets from tomorrow in Berlin 09.10.2017

  • The IFRA World Publishing Expo and DCX Digital Content Expo present products and services from 181 exhibitors
  • More than 100 speakers, four stages, two conferences – accompanying programme with international guests covers developments and trends

With 181 exhibitors, the well-established IFRA World Publishing Expo begins tomorrow, for the first time together with the new DCX Digital Content Expo. The spectrum covered by the dual exhibition ranges from the print production chain up to digital innovations in the news and content industry. Highlights include international keynote lectures and the presentation of the World Digital Media Awards.

The 47th edition of the IFRA World Publishing Expo comes in a strengthened position to Berlin: many important exhibitors for the print business are participating once again. In the new WAN-IFRA Report “High-Value Print Production” that the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers has published to coincide with the exhibition, it is described how many publishers and newspaper printing companies are making every effort to offer higher-quality products. By doing so, they can offset reduced print runs by processing additional orders. Printing presses, plates, prepress, paper, ink, mailroom technology, distribution, management and organisation – content producers have the opportunity at the exhibition to bring themselves up to speed with the latest developments for the print sector.

At the same time, the new DCX Digital Content Expo, that shares Halls 21 and 22 at  Messe Berlin with IFRA, focuses on digital: with the spotlight on strategy, newsroom, production, distribution, monetisation and advertising for digital content. Latest trends, reflected also in the exhibition programme, are solutions for dealing with fake news and hate comments, Artificial Intelligence for media makers, robot journalism as well as the possibilities to make money with platform publishing.

World Digital Media Awards: Presentation ceremony on the first exhibition day

The World Digital Media Awards are the most prestigious awards for Best Practice innovations in worldwide digital publishing. WAN-IFRA presents the Digital Media Awards during the year in various regions throughout the world.

The awards present inspiring models for the industry. Publishing companies and other news publishers have the opportunity to get to know examples of Best Practice from all over the world. The World Awards are given in ten different categories. The winners of the regional Digital Media Awards (Europe, Asia, Latin America, India, Arabic Middle East and Africa) compete for the World Digital Media Awards that will be announced this year at the Digital Content Expo in DCX Berlin, on 10 October 2017. The awards ceremony will begin at 3.30 pm on the conference stage.
